this past week -a long one

it's been a week, i'll tell you what! it started out 10 days ago when jackson came down with a fever for 2 days. he returned to school the following monday. on that same monday, kaitlin threw up and had a fever so she stayed home. jackson stayed home the next day saying he didn't feel well. logan threw up on all day wednesday and stayed home. jackson went to school on thursday but by the time i picked him up, his teacher said that he was very sick. so friday morning, i took all 3 to the drs office and they all had strep AND the stomach flu. they all were put on antibiotics, so... $125 in co-pays later, we had gotten the diagnosis of what was going on and lots of prescriptions.
the drs appt was at 11, and i was leaving at 12:45 to go to utah county to meet a great friend for lunch. i hadn't seen her in ages and after a week of throwing up, i needed a break.
i headed to the pharmacy at 12 and the pharmacist told me that the prescriptions would be ready in 45 minutes. i didn't know what to do because i wanted these prescriptions before i headed out to meet randi. so, i had a very sick little boy with me, jackson, and my other 3 and wasted time for 45 minutes. when i went back to pick them up, a different pharmacist told me that they didn't have these in stock and they wouldn't be in until later that night! AAAGGH! why didn't the first pharmacist tell me that? oh, and they did have jackson's but the machine malfunctioned and so it filled too much water in the bottle and spilled it all over the floor.
SO. i took the kids home to brian and he had the drs office call the prescriptions into another pharmacy and i was going to pick them up on my way home from lunch.
i had a great lunch, so many laughs and funny memories. it was GREAT. i picked up the prescriptions and when i got home, this is what i saw: (the above picture - a trail of who knows what). well, i will tell you what: apparently, brian stayed downstairs working and let kaitlin entertain herself while i was gone.
a whole pack of bread strewn all over the floor with indentations on each one.

a million polly pocket and my little pony's all over

is that THROW UP all over? no, it was really good soup from the night before that was now all over the fridge and freezer

phew, no throw up. oh wait, i didn't make it to the hallway yet. because THAT picture below is throw up all down the hallway!

and it didn't end there. the throw up continued all through that day and the next. in fact, after all that trauma with the prescriptions, jackson couldn't even hold down the medication until the following afternoon. the drs office said to bring him in so they could give him a shot of his medication instead, so another $25 copay later, i took him in for that. right before they were going to give it to him, they asked if he was allergic to amox.. which he is. so they couldn't give it to him. a waste of $25.
i am happy to say that they are all doing better now. they all went to school today.
i don't feel well now.
of course!
but, hopefully i will be better tomorrow.
so much for me never getting sick, which is what i LOVE to tell people!
i ate my words.
which is the only thing i've eaten today. ;)

Lunch with you was worth every second, Rand! It was so fun! Priscilla, I told Brian about the Enzyme and he said that we are just gonna get new carpet. yea! but thanks for the offer. And Alicia, yes, this is how it is when the husbands "watch" the kids, huh!

Jen, you poor thing! I love that you chronicled the effects of your (short) absence from home. A world without mothers is a very messy place, indeed!
