We went to Mirror Lake with my parents on Labor Day. It was a lot more crowded and cold than I thought it would be but we had fun. They have an awesome walkway around the whole lake so while we were waiting for my parents, we took the kids around part of it...
We then had a picnic on a big huge rock that was surprisingly vacant. (everything else was taken) but we soon realized why no one on sitting on it - it was right near the bathroom (outhouse) so every once in a while we got some great whiffs of yucky stuff. But oh well, the kids didn't notice and we really didn't have any other choice so we endured!
Both of my girls have very tender feelings towards Grandpa. He is so sweet with them and they absolutely adore him.

on a recent sleepover at Mimi and Grandpa's, when Grandpa was putting Kaitlin in the car to go home, he put her seatbelt on her and shut the door. She then began to cry because she didn't want to leave Grandpa. So sweet.
